Review of The Sea Hawk (1940) by Scott S — 15 Jun 2009
Pure swashbuckling escapism of the highest quality, set neatly against the backdrop of the Spanish Armada. Errol Flynn may be something of a one-note actor, but that one note is ridiculously entertaining.
Claude Rains, Alan Hale and the usual cast of characters are all wonderful, but a special shout-out goes to Flora Robson, whose feisty and defiant Elizabeth is an excellent match for Flynn's roguish antics.
