Review of The Sea Hawk (1940) by Stephen H — 11 Feb 2010
An amazing high spirit action adventure! The exploits of pirates and their ups and downs after sinking a Spanish vessel. Action, romance, and plenty of adventure. Errol Flynn at his finest, with some excellent side performances from Flora Robson as the Queen of England and Henry Daniell as the scheming and delightfully slimy Wolfington.
The opening sea battle is a wonder to behold, all real sets and actors. There is also a terrific sword fight at the end. A great swashbuckling adventure that ranks among the best pirate movies.
