Review of The Sacrifice (1986) by Keith W — 09 Jul 2008
An incredible movie...Pure visual poetry ,it absorbs you in the quietude of the soul like a gentle black hole. A film that arises many questions and is a question itself ,don't look for the answers inside the movie ,it's not about alussions and flat methaphors or some sort of latent esoteric messages.
..every true piece of art is a question and the answer lies within,in the inner world the observer ,like a quantum phenomenon. When I first saw the movie it was as if I looked inside myself.Faith, Love ,Truth, Beauty- the fourth components of the universe are the building blocks of this movie.
..It is as if this last movie of tarkovsky encompassess his lifelong spiritual crusade...join him, see the movie :).
