Review of The Rose (1979) by Jessica J — 27 Jun 2007
Bette Midler does a good take on Janis Joplin, but the story is just pretty flat. Midler goes with this guy, Midler does this drug, then she meets up with that guy and does that drug. She's a hopeless case, yeah, but that's all there is to it.
Still, good music, and Bates gives a solid supporting performance as always.
