Review of The Revolution Generation (2022) by Kennynrhi — 17 Jun 2022
The Revolution Generation: How Millennials Can Save America and the World is a much-needed breath of fresh air for millennials. Joshua and Rebecca Tickell have been able to really take millennial issues seriously in this grounded and informational documentary, all while adding humor and cultural relevance to the film through Michelle Rodriguez’s fun and on-beat narration and the star power of Corbin Blue, Shailene Woodley, and even Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
Don’t let the good humor fool you, though. The issues tackled in this film, like Black Lives Matter, climate change, and women’s rights, are all handled with the gravity they deserve, and with the explicit truth that millennials have played an instrumental part in these movements over the last twenty years.
The way that this film dismisses the common stereotypes of millennials in the first few minutes is already enough to make you crack a smile, but what keeps your eyes really glued to the screen is the clear dedication to representing these complex issues from a millennial perspective, all while carrying a clear message of hope from beginning to end.
