Review of The Remains of the Day (1993) by Mike S — 14 Feb 2009
A faboulous film about Britain and class situated in the thirties and fourties in upperclass England. Here we learn about the power of tradition, the flaws of loyalty and the horror of leading someone else's life.
This is written by an Asian writer, and it is curious how it often takes 'an outsider' to describe the workings of a culture. Great acting by all (even Christopher Reeve), great setting and wonderful plot.
