Review of The Quiet Man (1952) by Indira S — 09 Dec 2012
A wonderful movie that couldn't be more perfect, The Quiet Man is John Ford's homage to Ireland, his homeland. This is the quaint Irish village filled with wonderful characters that we all hope that is the backbone of Ireland--the way we want it to be.
The Quiet Man is John Wayne's best movie until True Grit, and also stars the beautiful fiery Maureen O'Hara, the Oscar winning Victor McLaglen, and Barry Fitzgerald, without whom no classic Hollywood Irish picture could be made.
A great and warmly humorous flick.
