Review of The Quiet Man (1952) by Anders K — 18 Apr 2014
It is a colorful master piece of the master John Ford. It is not the kind of movie from which you can get a lot of action scenes, nor the sort of pretigious innovative film made for intelectuals to analyze it.
It is the beauty that grows over it what makes it enduring and valuable. It is nostalgic, funny and overwhelming in parts. It causes certain nostalgia when you watch it, which can't be appreciated by anyone.
Maybe the dullness some talk about is that Ford's touch to tell a story in a wonderful and profound way.
