Film noir. Un vagabundo (el malogrado John Gardfield) logra trabajo en una estacion de gasolina. Alli se enredara en un romance volcanico con la mujer del dueño del sitio. Han habido otras versiones, incluida una italiana anterior, muy buena, pero esta es la mejor de todas.
