Review of The Postman Always Rings Twice (1946) by Tiffany D — 08 May 2014
I really enjoyed the twists and turns the journey this well-crafted tale takes. Beyond Cain's solid storytelling, there's the steamy sizzle between Turner and Garfield that runs like electricity.
Compounded with the likability of Kellaway's "Nick," the whole thing holds up all these years later - despite all the changes in style (and general knowledge of the law). There's also a supporting performance by a young Hume Cronyn as a bonus! Don't read the synopsis and go in cold like I did -- makes for a fun 2 hours! 5 stars.
