Review of The Poseidon Adventure (1972) by Trent J — 11 Jul 2009
A let down in the same way that the Matthau Pelham 123 doesn't deliver - we have no reason to sympathize with an altruistic, flawless hero like Gene Hackman. Since the hero has no motive other than get to the surface (and neither does anybody else), the film is boring, stuck in autopilot as we ascend from set piece to set piece, death to death, waiting for the credits to roll.
