Review of The Pink Panther (1963) by Alan L — 17 Jun 2008
A fortunate accident, almost unwatchable these days. Kids my age need to see the Panther, that winking cartoon we remember well from 6 o'clock Looney Tunes. Now, the movie is really classic cuckolding saga; Sellers bumbling out-showing Niven' classy starring thief, a little of Claudia Cardinale and not so much sense.
Sellers was an odd comic duck, every cornball act of his seems a mistake, but we'll enjoy his knack for character creation, the sorrowful emphatic tragic comedian inside him, it seems like there will always be something living and growing from his creations.
