Review of The Pink Panther (1963) by Liz W — 23 Jun 2009
This film has a big-name cast, but instead of making Pink Panther an outstanding film, I supect that the overabundance of actors was more a hindrance to success than contributing to to the film's quality. Peter In this (first) Pink Panther film Peter Sellers seems to be unsure in his role, unlike in his later Pink Panther roles.
Though the film was released in 1963, it had the typical slow even 'schmalzy flavour of those of the fiftiies.
The plot is confusing, probably all the big names were jockying for their share of the story.
Still, the film is worth revisiting on account of being a fan of Peter Seller and/or of any of the othe names.
