Review of The Piano (1993) by Jennifer E — 27 May 2012
To me, this was never really about a love affair with another person, but rather, with the piano. The piano, was her voice, it was her spirit in sound. Her love for the one thing, besides her daughter, who loved her and would not abandon her. Her love for her piano, so powerful, was the very thing that brought about her own destruction...and thereafter, the path to healing.
Very beautiful imagery here. As a player myself, I can imagine what it must have been like. But I must say, never would I have thrown my piano into the ocean!
