Review of The Pianist (2002) by Samarth K — 22 Dec 2015
The Pianists release immediately led to its comparison to Schindlers List, but whats missing is in Schindlers List can be seen in the Pianist. Polanski suffered the trauma, thats why the events are much more individualistic.
Whereas in Schindlers List Spielberg shows an entire atmosphere surrounding the holocaust. The story line has got something to do with my previous point, but the effect of the holocaust is show in a very subtle manner in The Pianist.
