Review of The Phantom of the Opera (1925) by Daniel M — 17 Aug 2009
Though Lon Chaney was a thing to behold, nothing I saw captivated me. It is a wonderful story but I am a victim of my own time when I ask why couldn't any of the music be matched up? Hunchback of Notre Dame came out two years earlier and had sound effects and music that changed with the scenes.
So why didn't this film do the same thing?
