Review of The Phantom of the Opera (1925) by Jennifer B — 20 May 2014
Yes it's a silent film and yes I watch many more talkies than I do um non-talkies. But this movie does have some genuine scares and Lon Chaney is the man of a thousand faces and this one as grotesque as it is, is beautiful to watch at times.
You get an appreciation of how these filmmakers could tell a story without words.
