Review of The Passion of the Christ (2004) by John D — 28 Mar 2016
It was brilliant in enabling the viewer to experience the agony of what Jesus went through. For that, I give it a 5 out of 5. However, it is extremely difficult to sit through and in terms of it being overall an oerall enjoyable movie, I give it maybe a 0 out of 5. Nonetheless, it does have the merit of various flashbacks to memorable moments - not entirely agony in the garden, trial, mockery and execution.
This movie turned out to be a blockbuster hit, largely due to support among the worldwide Christian community. Hindsight is always 20-20, but especially in light of that fact, it might have been better to add more in the way of post-resurrection scenes.
