From a film criticism point-of-view, and only film criticism, the film is exhilarating, heartbreaking, thrilling and glorious. Jim Caviezel is as great as can be for the enormous, challenging task of portraying Jesus Christ, as depicted in the Holy Bible.
Reminds Me of "Gladiator" and "Titanic". Films many want others to hate, but I cannot bring myself to rate it low based on prejudices. I am not a populist film-goer, but when a film is good, I give it credit.
