Review of The Palm Beach Story (1942) by Johan A — 05 Dec 2008
Light and fluffy knockabout nonsense. Spitfire banter, cartoonish characters and gleeful implausibilities abound, but all carried off with such verve as to seem effortless. A little too brief, perhaps, as a pat ending hoves into view just when some third-act obstacles could've generated some seriously-lacking drama, but still relentlessly amusing for its duration.
