Review of The Mouse That Roared (1959) by Gerry N — 15 Jun 2007
One of the funniest movies ever made, "The Mouse That Roared" features Peter Sellers in three major roles. As Grand Duchess Gloriana XII, Sellers presides over the Duchy of Grand Fenwick, with the aid of Prime Minister Count Rupert Mountjoy (Peter Sellers).
When their country's economy is threatened by a cheap American imitation of their sole export Pinot Grand Fenwick. They devise a scheme to revive their economy by declaring war on the USA, losing, and cashing in on America's long standing tradition of rebuilding the economies of those she has defeated.
Unfortunately for their plot, they fail to fill Tully (Peter Sellers) the head of their "army" in, and so he goes ahead and wins the war.
