Review of The Mist (2007) by Ulid. — 30 Nov 2007
Sorry. but , like nearley all Stephen King Films -> worse than the book. for me , as a european watcher, this film is more a propagandistic film than one close to the story. I have read this book ( or a part of it , as in the german form , you just can have it combined with some other short stories) and I even tried to make my own theorie of makin a theatre production out of it ( but I missed , because it went too funny).
I have to say - (sorry my english is not very good) the latest poin where I was depressed by this film was after the action when the alien with flys came in inthe supermarket. If I can remember exactly the action with mrs carmody didn`happen in the book like this.
( for me a kind of pathetic action, which is made to solidarize the creationists in the US )i don ´t know if S.K. would like to have it that way... another thing is the animation and the look, - toomuch cgi which takes away the best of the story.
you(guys from teh film), woul have been dine better to make more strange sequences from actions and cuts we all know, (in the supermarket ) (especially there !!!) instead of wasting toomuch time by animating sceneries .
.i read this book oftenenough, butmaybe european guys have another taste of sth. like . that but I have to say ( for me ) -> finally I have expected more.
