Review of The Mist (2007) by Tristan W — 27 Jul 2012
It was painful to watch at some points but the plot is strong enough to keep you watching until the very end. But it was the ending that ruined the film's purpose entirely. It also wasn't until the ending that I realized how unbalanced and slow the film felt covering the characters.
People die a gruesome death, there's a variety of creatures lurking for prey within the mist... The horror movie adaptation of Stephen King's tale was a boring horror flick with a depressing ending that resulted out of King's novella leaving a cliffhanger as to what happened next.
So the director decided to close that window shut in such an ironic way, you'll just feel unfulfilled. Aside from the annoyingly exaggerated screaming and slow pace, it can still be a watchable movie.
