Review of The Mission (1986) by Diana M — 26 Dec 2007
This movie takes the viewer through the different levels of faith. It highlights the inherent good in people regardless of religion and that the presence of conscience is the door that welcomes God and faith. The mission tells the tale of holy men and sinners who all search for redemption and the strength to persevere in a world undeniably riddled by evil.
This movie is simple yet poignant, wrapped in Ennio Morricone's most beautiful score yet. Prepared to cry buckets as this movie gives a lesson the true Jesuit way, through self-exploration, understanding and experience.
