Review of The Meg (2018) by Dave R — 13 Aug 2018
The summer blockbuster originated with the movie Jaws, and since then there have been numerous attempts to do shark movies. However, none have ever matched up with Jaws, and that includes our latest effort The Meg.
The shark is bigger, stronger, faster and the writing and acting is laughable. I like Jason Statham but in this one he is too many things. I down on his luck guy who can't get over the past, and a nice guy and a tough guy and a well you get the picture.
There are a few good shocks and shark scenes, but for the most part I wasn't too pleased.
