Review of The Meg (2018) by Riff J — 05 Jan 2019
I went in expecting this would be an over the top, cheesy, summer flick, (that's why we waited for DVD) and it is...but I have to admit this film was better than I expected. Kind of a twist on Jaws, but not quite as good.
Unlike what others reviewed, I thought the acting was ok enough, I mean, it's Jason Statham and what you'd expect from his films. The little girl was adorable and added to the charm/humor of the story.
Of course, it's very predictable but had some unexpected scenes, some humor and lighthearted moments, a decent enough plot, and Yes, a fair amount of cringe-worthy, stupid moments and plot holes as well.
But overall, my hubby and I found it fun and entertaining enough for a rainy afternoon DVD. Entertaining enough for a lazy Sunday afternoon at home In My Humble Opinion. Feb/2019.
