Review of The Man with the Golden Arm (1955) by Mark S — 09 Apr 2008
Sinatra's tour-de-force; wasn't exactly ahead of its time (frankly this is Hollywood mainstream compared to William S. Burroughs), but with the exception of some one-note performances for one-note supporting characters, it works very well.
I also liked how Sinatra's girlfriend was basically a fucking needy nutjob.
