Review of The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit (1956) by Jonathan M — 10 Jan 2010
This is an interesting portrayal of PTSD in the 50s where Gregory Peck becomes a kind of Don Draper from "Mad Men," working on Madison Avenue, but still dealing with his experience of the war.
As a time capsule it's great, but some of the direction is wanting (heavy-handed musical cues, predictable flashback moments) and the socio-economic markers are confused (he gets a 20% increase in pay and they go from being quasi-destitute to living in a mansion with live-in servants).
