Review of The Maltese Falcon (1941) by Lucas S — 01 Oct 2009
I think that The Maltese Falcon is one of the best classic thrillers ever. Even though it was from 1941 it had me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. The story was pretty simple, but the movie was brilliantly executed.
Humphrey Bogart was fantastic, like he did in all of his movies. I think that The Maltese Falcon is probably the best classic crime, thriller movie I have ever seen in my entire life. I love the cop, detective movies.
It is so fun to watch, because in most of those kind of movies you are at the edge of your seat for nearly the entire movie. It was a great Film Noir movie. Probably one of the best ever made. Mary Astor did good in this movie too.
She was very good in the dramatic scenes throughout the film. But Humphrey Bogart did one of his best. I loved his performance in this movie. It made me feel like he was really a detective or something like that.
The thing that is fun about this movie is that you have to figure out the crime while you have to watch the movie. You have to pay attention to your question and the movie. That is why I love crime, mystery's.
A lot of people don't see the movie because it was from a long time ago, but it still can have the chance of being one of the greatest movies ever made. 10 stars out of ten. Fantastic movie.
