Review of The Maltese Falcon (1941) by Jonny P — 16 Oct 2009
THE detective movie. Period. Bogart plays one of the coolest characters of all time, complimented by Mary Astor who's big teary eyes will grab you from the moment that you see her. This plot takes plenty of unexpected turns to keep you guessing until the last minutes of the film.
Peter Lorre's character is unforgettable. This movie will always be one of the greatest achievements in cinematic history, creating a precedence for every detective movie ever to follow in its footsteps.
