Definitely an awesome movie, The Maltese Falcon is one of those movies that has a lot of hype as a classic film. Some of these films can seem boring by contemporary movie viewer standards. The Maltese Falcon is not one of these films! It feels almost timeless despite the rather out-dated dialogue and actions.
The film also manages to create an atmosphere that has been attempted many times since but never copied exactly right. Noir is almost a joke today, but this film actually is the height of cinema noir.
Featuring some of the strongest performances ever captured on screen, this movie is surely a crowd pleaser that even thrills those who deny its greatness. Obviously, this is a must-see for anyone who wants to call themselves a movie buff.
