Review of The Love Witch (2016) by Emily A — 17 Dec 2016
My face was drenched with tears from laughing so much. The theatre had no more than 15 people and that room was roaring with laughter. Obviously it is visually stunning and is so enjoyable in its satire of sexploitation films. At the same time it feels like an Argento film / offers shallow satisfaction for the many women who love witchy aesthetics. Incredibly unique, and I wish it was longer.
The summer solstice scene is a comedic masterpiece. I nearly died.
Not sure about the profound commentary some people are claiming it has though.
