Review of The Long Goodbye (1973) by Derek A — 25 Jul 2007
One of Altman's top five, the woozzy camerawork and the elliptic plot echoed in the repetition of the theme--which, despite being played to us in many ways, is never allowed to resolve--with the circling, evasive Chandler-esque dialogue catches Altman at his most charmingly and irreverantly evasive.
Plus, the mood rocks!
