Review of The Long Goodbye (1973) by Joey B — 27 May 2012
A fantastic, underrated film that gives a completely different interpretation of Raymond Chandler's character. Elliot Gould is a near-perfect Philip Marlowe in this story. Fans of the Novel would not like but fans of film would get a kick out of it.
Great performances all around, even Jim Bouton wasn't bad. Gould's portrayal of Marlowe rivals Bogey but in itself is a different interpretation that sticks closely to Chandler's novel version.
