Review of The Limits of Control (2009) by Sarven T — 05 Jan 2010
I honestly didn't know what to think of this film. Being a Jim Jarmusch fan, I was pretty excited about this film, but it didn't seem like it provided a whole lot. Maybe it was supposed to be that way (after all Jarmusch is quite the minimalist).
I must say that I did enjoy his other works much better than this. Jarmusch's style of directing is certainly there and visible, but it seemed to me that the protagonist was going nowhere the whole film.
I didn't like it. I didn't hate it. I just didn't know what to take out of it and was just confused by it. Perhaps another viewing is needed to see it's true potential.
