Review of The Limits of Control (2009) by Zack B — 28 Apr 2013
An exercise in style. Jarmusch takes all that he has learned in his film career and makes a cool film. But that's just about it. The movie is cool because of the direction of photography, the music and the cast.
Other than that the dialogue is sparse, the plot non existent and the movie is repetitive as hell. Still as I said there are good things that you can enjoy about it. The are also some pearls of philosophy spread around in the dialogues and the lead character's enigmatic being.
Lacks substance, has style, it's "The Limits of Control".
