Review of The Lighthouse (2019) by Ultimobeaker — 20 Jun 2021
A great aesthetic coupled with excellent acting in this two-man character study. So, why the B+ review? The plot is pretty simple and places you in a series of disjoint vignettes that are weird for weirdness's sake.
Yes, its a great reflection on the mindset of the characters, but do we really need that scrimshaw scene(you'll know what I mean)? Does that really add to the movie? I'm glad they took risks in making something different, but there is some room for polish.
