Review of The Lighthouse (2019) by Alizodiac — 23 Jan 2021
I went into this not knowing much about it, but suspected it would be decent based on what I've heard from people whose opinions I admire. But it took me through an experience I wasn't prepared for, and certainly one I wasn't expecting.
Aesthetically it's stunning, some of the visuals alone are iconic and breathtaking, the acting is elevated to the highest highs. Both Defoe and Pattinson give chilling performances. The story - oh boy.
The best I could say is the lest you know the better. But go in with an open mind, because this will be weird, uneasy, at times uncomfortable, unnerving, and in brief moments even funny.
