Review of The Leopard (1963) by Achille C — 17 Jan 2008
Beautiful. Visconti has an incredible touch for aesthetics. The novel of Tommasi di Lampedusa is so good describing the culture of Sicily of that period that we can still refer to it nowdays for the italian situation.
"Everything's got to change in order to be the same", and "We were the leopards, the lions; afterwards the hyenas and jackals will come" reminds me Italy after the political scandal "tangentopoli".
