Just saw Luchino Visconti's Il Gattopardo in a restored print at the George Eastman House this evening...my God, what an experience. Clocking in at just over 3 hours, this epic tale of the last years of a Sicilian Prince during the Garibaldi era.
On the surface, it is the story of the end of an age.
