Review of The Last Emperor (1987) by Samantha S — 25 Jul 2009
Brilliant film by Bertolucci that sucks you right in from the beginning. I had no interest in this but went anyway on a date and was immediately enthralled in it. All performances are hypnotic and it's refreshing to see Peter O'Toole play a true Scottish gentleman instead of the rogues and hoods he likes to play.
Visually stunning in the extreme!
