Review of The Kite Runner (2007) by Erika R — 06 Jun 2012
I really enjoyed this film, though only went to see it as my original choice was sold out. It turned out to be the best viewing choice, as I haven't seen such a well acted, interesting film in ages.
The 2 child actors are brilliant, hard to believe they're novices, and the recent history of Afghanistan and the Taliban are brought to life in an enthralling way that doesn't reek of dull history lessons.
There are spots of humour throughout, in large part relating to the quirks of Afghan traditions and customs. And the kite scenes are breathtaking.
