Review of The Kite Runner (2007) by Noah Abraham G — 17 Oct 2013

"The Kite Runner" is a well-acted, impeccably mounted and all around respectable adaptation of a beloved modern classic. Unfortunately, a lack of cultural context, uneven pacing and a baffling decision to tone down the brutality does the film no favors, serving only to confuse the audience and accentuate flaws in the source material that may have otherwise gone unnoticed.

A valiant effort, but a disappointment nonetheless.
