Review of The King and I (1956) by Kitty F — 26 Jan 2008
Perhaps I should give more credit simply to the story "Anna and the King" more than the movie itself. The "movie" is structured more as a filmed musical on stage rather than an actual movie.
However, the stellar acting compensates for the still, linear camera composition. In short, Yul Brynner rocks, and Rogers and Hammerstein musical score really juices up the movie.
