Review of The King and I (1956) by Jeff B — 12 Nov 2012
You can't help but love, fear, and otherwise admire Yul Brynner's king in this picture. The musical numbers are intriguing, particularly the dance sequence surrounding the story of the "small house of Uncle Thomas" and the "shall we dance" segment where we see the king humanized for once.
An enchanting film, all-around.
