John Cassavetes is the most underrated american filmmaker ever. Why? because he is simply one of the best ever. Anyone who calls themself a film lover needs to do their self a favor and watch his work. Please take your hand off a Speilbergs cock (the most overrated filmmaker of all time IMO) and watch real human emotion. Now that being said Killing is another masterwork by Cassavetes.
This film is almost a noir about a Cosmo Vitelli who owns a strip club in california. The film takes so much time showing us who this man is, how he acts, what he cares about, etc. that by the time the story starts to kick into high gear you are completetly infatuated with Cosmo. I have said it before and I will say it again, no other director is capable of capturing underlying human emotion quite like Cassavetes. The script is fantastic and the gritty style direction serves the film perfectly. Great film.
