Review of The Keep (1983) by Clarence E — 20 Nov 2011
This three star rating is purely for the visual feast that Michael Mann made "The Keep" and the potential for what this film so could have been. There is no denying that its hard to understand the logic of the story (evil being enclosed - safely, for now - in large gothic structure trying to get out and then here come Nazis!) but if you are a fan of gothic horror and 80's relics you gotta find a way to watch this (it has never been on DVD, but streaming on Netflix!) This film could have been one of the scariest, foreboding films of all time.
But it is a pleasant mess instead.
