Review of The Jungle Book (2016) by N Z — 21 Jul 2018
It's a remake which lacks at everything which made the the original jungle book great eg the social commentary. I'm not sure if this was the result of having a snowflake generation in today's time but after all you conquer the rotten world of humans with humour. Characters are depressing, even Baloo and are one dimensional. While the original attempted to place moral values in every frame of it's master piece for young and old this seemed to throw all of it out of the window but a change which I couldn't get over which made it even for the worse, was that they changed the snake from male to female. If the film producers tried to get themselves out of controversy then why did they decide to represent the snakes role with a womans voice instead?! For me that's just backwards thinking.
Do yourself a favor and just watch the original.
