Review of The Jazz Singer (1927) by Nikolai E — 29 Jan 2009
Definitely more interesting than good. I liked that they had a record that they played for the song numbers, and it makes me think that maybe this movie was a star vehicle. Maybe they even released the soundtrack to it! It was also interesting to note that he had to mask himself as a black man in order to gain credibility as a jazz singer.
