Review of The Iron Giant (1999) by Debra B — 31 Jul 2012
Flawlessly fleshed out rural 50's Americana setting, accurately depicting the national mindset of the turbulent time period and truly putting you there. Hogarth is fucking adorable, and every last character in the movie is nothing short of lovable, especially Mansley.
The film just never has a low point, I can't say it more simply than that. The character interactions are ridiculously entertaining, I mean need I say more than Hogarth and Kent's staring contest? Just watch it, I can't suck this movie's dick enough to paint you an accurate picture.
The art style is incredibly sexy, the story, execution and timing are perfectly fine-tuned, and it makes very rapid changes from endearing to badass that left me in some weird twilight between sex face and impossiburu.
